Lakeland, FL - Four human resources experts will acquaint job seekers with modern tools and techniques for finding a job on Tuesday, August 25 when the Dick Pope/Polk County Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA), in cooperation with ALC Technical, Leap Ahead Professional Development and Rita Staffing, present a special professional development seminar titled "Job Search 2.0."

The two-hour program, to be offered on the Lakeland campus of Polk State College, will feature Dustin Shay, an account manager with Rita Staffing; Dr. Marsha Leap of Leap Professional Development and Livia Wright, a senior recruiter with ALC Technical. HR executive Mercedes Guzman, SPHR, of a major Lakeland professional services firm is a special guest presenter.

"We are excited to be presenting this special program which is tailor made for people seeking their first job or those in transition between jobs. We feel this is a very timely topic considering the current depressed state of the economy," said Jim Frankowiak of Coastal Public Relations Group, chair of this FPRA professional development initiative.

Topics to be discussed by the panel of experts include use of social networking to identify contacts and leads, cultivating leads with the right resume, sharpening interviewing skills, learning how to become a top candidate and getting an offer.

"Whether you are a recent grad or seasoned professional, you can't afford to miss this session,"Frankowiak said. "There's simply no better way to get the competitive edge you need to find that next position in this highly competitive marketplace."

Frankowiak said seating is limited, with reservations to be handled on a first come first served basis. The cost for the general public is $20 if paid in advance and $30 at the door. The cost for FPRA members is $15 and only $10 for FPRA student members.
