The meeting will begin at 11:30 am with networking, followed by Dr. Haight's talk on "Crisis Communications." A buffet lunch is included in the fee of $20 for FPRA members and their bosses, and $25 for guests.

"We thank Dr. Haight for taking time from his very demanding schedule to be the guest speaker for this year's 'Bring Your Boss' meeting. His presentation on 'Crisis Communications' promises to be of great interest and value to our members and their bosses, as well as our guests," said Kris Keprios of Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing, in his role as president of the FPRA chapter.

Dr. Haight has served as director of the PCHD for the past 12 years. The department currently employs more than 500 people, including doctors, nurses, nutritionists, dentists and environmental specialists whose collective mission is "to promote, protect and improve the health of all Polk County residents."

He also is an associate professor of medicine at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases and a member of the Tampa General Hospital and Moffitt Cancer Center medical staffs. He sees patients at both Tampa General and the PCHD HIV/AIDS clinic in Bartow.

He is active in a number of other local, state and national health-related organizations.

Over the past eight years, Dr. Haight has been recognized by Florida Tax Watch with seven Davis Productivity awards for ideas that improve the delivery of medical services to residents while saving taxpayers dollars.

Dr. Haight earned his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in 1991 and is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases. He resides in Lakeland with his wife, Dr. Marci Pepine, a local dermatologist.
