DESCRIPTION
This position is a member of the Florida Department of Citrus (FDOC) domestic marketing team responsible for development and execution of advertising, promotion and public relations programs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Contributes to the development and execution of integrated marketing plans in support of marketing objectives and strategies. Works closely with FDOC internal team and contract agencies.
Makes presentations; communicates FDOC organizational objectives, the industry's historical background and the details of FDOC programs in an accurate and professional manner.
Coordinates and attends trade shows and events.
Examples: Florida State Fair, Florida Welcome Centers, Annual Citrus Expo
Requires loading, transporting and set up of booths and materials including boxes of citrus fruit weighing up to 50 pounds.
Manages all FDOC Web site content.
Works with partner agencies and vendors to insure accuracy of Web sites.
Writes and designs collateral material and fact sheets for consumers, trade and industry to support FDOC marketing programs.
Coordinates special projects which support various FDOC/industry programs.
Responds to information requests from industry, consumers and staff.
Assists in organizing and conducting tours/special events for trade, industry and community groups. Coordinates visits to citrus groves, packinghouses and processing facilities.
Assists in cultivating co-marketing partnerships for in-state, school, foodservice and food retailers. Develops relationships with organizations throughout the state with whom the FDOC can partner.
Contributes to team communications to senior management, industry, trade and FDOC peers.
Establishes and maintains detailed records and controls on all planned and approved promotions and budgets, as well as complete accurate records of assigned work.
Develops written reports recapping activities and results of marketing programs.
Performs any related duties which would identify marketing opportunities for the Florida Department of Citrus and the citrus industry;
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, journalism or agriculture. Professional or nonprofessional experience in marketing, merchandising, public relations, advertising or communications can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college training.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), graphic design and Web management software.
Physically able to lift a 4/5 bushel carton of Fresh Florida Citrus (50 lbs.)
EXPECTED SALARY RANGE: $28,000.00 - $40,000.00
