June Chapter Meeting

Join us for the June Chapter Meeting for the Dick Pope Polk County Chapter of FPRA at Lakeland Yacht Club on Lake Hollingsworth. In addition to Sheri's presentation, the new slate of officers will be proposed for consideration and scholarship recipients for the Annual Meeting will be announced.

Speaker: Sheri McInvale, Polk Transit Authority

Presentation: Polk, well-connected

Sheri McInvale is a 5th generation Floridian who currently is serving as the Acting Public Affairs Director for the Polk Transit Authority. Sheri comes to this position with an extensive background in Public Relations, Communications, Media Relations and Public Service.

Prior to taking the position in Polk County, Sheri has been the Director of Regional Advocacy for Central Florida for both the Florida Chamber of Commerce and Associated Industries of Florida. Both of these organizations lobby the State Legislature on behalf of our powerful business communities.

Before her lobbying career, Sheri served in the Florida House of Representatives for 2 terms, representing Downtown Orlando and portions of Orange County.

Sheri is a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Communications and is also a proud mother of three adult children. Sheri continues to be involved in many community and civic organizations from the Chambers of Commerce (too many to name), the Junior League of Greater Orlando and enjoys playing tennis, all water sports and even a little bird hunting when she can find the time.
